Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Gunnar Sigorsson!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Steven Brown and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sigorsson avoids the body shot from Vieira.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Vieira is defended easily by Sigorsson.
Sigorsson is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Vieira has Sigorsson up against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vieira has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Sigorsson is trying to keep an underhook but Vieira manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Vieira not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Sigorsson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Vieira looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Sigorsson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Sigorsson dives in and grabs Vieira's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vieira pushes down on Sigorsson's head and hops out.

and Vieira counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Sigorsson!
Sigorsson felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Vieira has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Sigorsson is trying to control but can't.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Sigorsson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Vieira defends well and Sigorsson ends up having to push Vieira into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Kron Vieira has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gunnar Sigorsson.

Vieira closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Vieira tries for a kimura but Sigorsson is defending well.

Vieira works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Sigorsson is trying to control Vieira's posture but Vieira avoids it.
Vieira is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sigorsson can do to turn this around?
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Vieira lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sigorsson circles away quickly and effectively.

Sigorsson throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
A quick step to the side and Vieira tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.


It looks like Gunnar Sigorsson has been cut.
Vieira misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sigorsson.

Vieira fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sigorsson, pushing him back against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Sigorsson has Vieira pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Vieira manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Vieira is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well Vieira has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
