Ymous drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ymous jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Champ really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ymous. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ymous throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Champ's waist but Champ gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ymous off to one side.

Ymous is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Champ is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Ymous throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Champ felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

I was talking to Ymous's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
