Washington is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: TNT. Mats Lindgraf had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mats Lindgraf!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 13 - 2, fighting out of New York, Samuel Washington!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paul Aken and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lindgraf slips under a jab from Washington.
As Washington tries to get set, Lindgraf tries to push him back and clinch up but Washington manages to avoid the attempt.
Lindgraf fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Washington avoids it really well and circles away.
Lindgraf shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Washington defends it nicely.
Washington tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Washington misses with an uppercut. Lindgraf saw that one coming.
Lindgraf seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Lindgraf closes the distance and clinches.
We've been hearing reports that Lindgraf has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Lindgraf is trying to pull guard but Washington turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mats Lindgraf. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Washington connects with a nice short shot to Lindgraf's temple.

Lindgraf wants to control but Washington is keeping busy.

Washington seems to be looking for submissions.

Washington lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Washington looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Lindgraf with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Lindgraf really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Washington lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Lindgraf quite badly. Lindgraf pulls Washington in close trying to recover. Washington postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Lindgraf on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Lindgraf doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Samuel Washington!
