The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gama with a nice cross.
Sloppy strikes from Gama. Those never looked like landing.
Gama throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jimenez.
Jimenez throws a big counter combination but Gama scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Jimenez darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gama wants to control but Jimenez is keeping busy.
Jimenez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gama with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gama is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gama's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
