Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cristoff Melkovick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iker Dedal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Iker Dedal will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Cristoff Melkovick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Iker Dedal!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dedal is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Nice body punch from Dedal.
Dedal stuns Melkovick with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Melkovick throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dedal was covering up waiting for the punch and Melkovick finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Melkovick has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Melkovick throws a strike but Dedal rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Melkovick wants to sweep here but Dedal controlling him for the moment.

Melkovick has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dedal can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Melkovick escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dedal gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Melkovick is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Melkovick bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dedal's guard.

Melkovick is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Holding Cell that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Dedal utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Melkovick is looking to work some ground and pound but Dedal has wrist control.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Melkovick accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Melkovick creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Dedal sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dedal can do anything to dispel that myth.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Melkovick, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
