Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Benedict Oneal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mickey Rourke!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yukihiro Shimada and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oneal tries to move into range but Rourke moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.


It looks like Benedict Oneal has been cut.

Rourke forces Oneal back against the cage and clinches.
Oneal tries to throw a body punch but Rourke avoids it by throwing Oneal back against the cage.
Oneal is looking to take this one to the mat.

Rourke has hold of one of Oneal's legs. Oneal is fighting the takedown attempt but Rourke gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Oneal scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Rourke decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Oneal looks like he's trying to stand up.
Oneal wants to improve his position but Rourke is controlling well.
Oneal really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Oneal is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rourke's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rourke's back!

Rourke covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.

Rourke rolls, trying to escape but Oneal keeps control of the position.

Oneal is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Oneal gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Oneal gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Oneal apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Rourke shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Oneal eats them both and turns towards Rourke to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Rourke looks winded!

Rourke fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Oneal to the ground. Rourke is now in Oneal's guard.

Oneal is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Rourke presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rourke is trying to break free.

Rourke has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Oneal clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Oneal is trying to shake Rourke off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Rourke won't be happy about giving up the dominant position.
Oneal avoids the body shot from Rourke.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Excellent takedown into side control there by Rourke.

Oneal throws Rourke to one side and escapes!

Rourke has managed to clinch.

Oneal has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Rourke has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rourke keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Oneal's efforts to push away.

Oneal turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rourke can do anything to dispel that myth.

The ground and pound from Oneal seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Oneal in side control, throwing shots but Rourke defends.
Oneal prevents Rourke from escaping the position.
Oneal gets to mount! Rourke was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Rourke takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Rourke really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Oneal. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rourke is looking to improve his position but Oneal isn't that keen on the idea.

Rourke tries to lock up and control but Oneal gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Oneal will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Rourke is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Rourke is desperately trying to improve his position but Oneal has a good base and remains in mount.
Oneal has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Oneal tries to control but Rourke wriggling away.
Oneal avoids the attempt from Rourke to control.

Oneal scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Rourke?
Rourke tries to hold on but Oneal pushes him away.
Oneal connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Oneal postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Rourke looks a forlorn figure.
Rourke is in all sorts of trouble here.
Rourke holds on for dear life.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Rourke throws a lazy uppercut

and Oneal moves into the clinch.
Oneal has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Rourke is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
A battle for position here, against the cage.

Rourke wants the takedown. Oneal is fighting it off but Rourke persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Oneal's guard against the cage.

Oneal manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rourke pulls Oneal into guard.
Oneal trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Oneal working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Rourke's head.
Rourke looking for a sweep. Not yet Rourke, not yet.
Rourke lands an upkick as Oneal stands over him.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rourke pushes Oneal off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Oneal keeps control of Rourke as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Oneal is looking to stand back up. He's having to work hard to escape but eventually he manages it.
Rourke takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Oneal shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rourke as he jumps to the side.

Oneal gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Oneal manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Oneal prevents Rourke from breaking the clinch.

Rourke wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Oneal has Rourke pressed against the cage.

Oneal pulls guard effortlessly.
Oneal bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rourke's guard.

Rourke trying to control the position here.
Rourke wants to hit a switch here but Oneal passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Rourke there!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Oneal takes Rourke's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Rourke is in trouble.
Oneal is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rourke can do to turn this around?
Rourke is trying to break free.
Oneal struggling to land strikes to the head as Rourke covers up.
Oneal cracks Rourke with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Rourke from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Rourke surviving as best he can, preventing damage.
Mickey Rourke has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Benedict Oneal is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Oneal controlling well, preventing Rourke from escaping the position.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Oneal, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
