The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage has closed the distance and engaged Rogers in a clinch.
Savage is trying to break the clinch but Rogers has him pressed against the cage.

Savage wants to sweep here but Rogers controlling him for the moment.
Savage is looking to stand up but Rogers isn't so interested in that idea.
Savage is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Rogers is controlling Savage's position as best he can from this difficult position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Savage is working for a kimura but Rogers is defending it quite comfortably.

Rogers knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Savage on the ground.
Savage prevents Rogers from getting the reversal.
Savage goes for an armbar but Rogers turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Rogers.

Savage working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rogers doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Savage is tightening it up a little... Rogers has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Rogers reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Rogers taps out! Nice BJJ there by Savage!
