Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rolland Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Svarog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luke Svarog has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Rolland Ward's chin.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ward enables Svarog to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ward manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Ward is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ward is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Svarog holds on and takes a little breather.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Svarog is looking for a triangle but Ward pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ward keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Svarog's head.

Svarog avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Ward really is a fat lump.

Ward postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Ward won't allow Svarog to sweep him here.
Ward throws a big elbow that misses.
Ward throws a strike but Svarog rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Ward is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Svarog felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Ward winds up and cracks Svarog with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Svarog pushes Ward off but Ward dives into side control.
Ward scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Svarog to see if he's OK.
Svarog really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ward. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Svarog is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Svarog wants to control but Ward is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Ward thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Ward is trying to work for a kimura but Svarog is defending well.
Svarog is looking to get back to is feet but Ward passes into side control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Svarog tries to improve position but can't.

Ward has an Americana. Svarog didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Ward is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Ward hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
