Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kazimir Evgeni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Hales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Evgeni's entrance music is Bones - Trash. A fine choice. Mark Hales will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Kazimir Evgeni!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Hales!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evgeni leaves Hales with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Hales tried to score with a low kick but Evgeni checks it.

Hales closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hales lands in his opponent's guard.

Hales stands and steps away. Evgeni gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hales shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Evgeni as he avoids it easily.

Hales dives in for a single leg takedown but Evgeni sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Evgeni is looking to counter punch.
Hales fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Evgeni avoids it really well and circles away.

and Evgeni counters with a three punch combo that has Hales backing up. Hales nods at Evgeni to acknowledge the strikes.
Hales will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Hales throws a wild body kick that Evgeni sees coming a mile off.
Hales shoots for a double leg takedown but Evgeni sprawls well. He's pushed Hales's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hales dives in and grabs Evgeni's left leg, looking for a takedown. Evgeni pushes down on Hales's head and hops out.

Mark Hales seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hales throws a hook but Evgeni avoids it easily.
A little feinted left hand from Evgeni on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Evgeni tries to sprawl but Hales drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hales decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

and Evgeni counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Hales.
A little feinted left hand from Evgeni on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Hales throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Evgeni's waist but Evgeni gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hales off to one side.
It looked like Evgeni was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Hales.
Hales looks for the body kick but Evgeni saw that one coming.
A quick step to the side and Evgeni tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Hales takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Hales scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Hales is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Hales seems to be looking for submissions.

Hales is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Hales is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Evgeni sees it coming and defends easily.
Evgeni is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Hells Balls Grappling Academy , so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Hales thows a huge punch but Evgeni dodges it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kazimir Evgeni will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Hales looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Evgeni!

Hales is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Evgeni is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Evgeni on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Evgeni tries to get out of the position.
Evgeni prevents Hales from moving into mount.
Hales wants to lay and pray for a moment but Evgeni keeps working.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hales thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hales tries for a kimura but Evgeni is defending well.

Hales is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Evgeni has escaped the position, nice work there.
Evgeni is trying to improve his position.

Hales tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hales has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Hales stands up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

and Evgeni counters with a crisp one two that drops Hales! Evgeni thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Hales to his feet! Hales is in big trouble!

and Evgeni counters with a nice right hand that sends Hales toppling to the canvas! Hales scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Evgeni finish him?!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Evgeni cracks Hales with a hook to the temple - Hales is on wobbly legs here! Evgeni swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Hales falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Evgeni wins by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Kazimir Evgeni!
Kazimir Evgeni very nearly forgot to thank Instinct amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
