Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cario Angelus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Koni Minichi!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Minichi rushes Angelus and presses him up against the cage.
Minichi looking for a takedown.
Minichi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Minichi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Angelus gets tackled into the cage by Minichi. Minichi maintains the clinch.
Angelus looking to stall.
Angelus gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Minichi.
Minichi is trying to pull guard but Angelus has him pressed against the cage.
Cario Angelus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Koni Minichi.
Minichi displaying some good clinch control by pressing Angelus up against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Minichi jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Angelus walks away with a smile on his face. Minichi gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Minichi gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Minichi takes one on the button.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Minichi circles away from the clinch attempt.
Angelus lands with a cross.
Angelus scores with a decent looking hook.
Good shot there by Angelus.
Minichi's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Minichi duly obliges.
Angelus lands a big uppercut and Minichi crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Minichi looks OK. Angelus waves Minichi back to his feet!
It looks like Koni Minichi has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Angelus tries to clinch up but Minichi circles away and keeps his distance.
Nice cross by Angelus.
Angelus is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Angelus cracks Minichi with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Minichi looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Angelus finish him?
Minichi is rocked!
Angelus cracks Minichi on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Minichi falls backwards against the cage. Angelus follows up with more strikes that drop Minichi to his knees. Angelus keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Minichi! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cario Angelus!
