Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Elton Mayo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Popoy Kenjutsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Elton Mayo has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mayo.
Kenjutsu looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Mayo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kenjutsu paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Kenjutsu shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kenjutsu was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Mayo is wriggling around trying to escape.

That was a close round but I would say that Elton Mayo will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Mayo pushes Kenjutsu off and scrambles back to his feet.

so Kenjutsu counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Kenjutsu wants to stand and escape but instead Mayo has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Mayo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Kenjutsu fails in his attempt to clinch.
Mayo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

and Mayo counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Kenjutsu is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mayo tries a head kick but it misses.

Kenjutsu moves into the clinch successfully.

Mayo jumps guard but Kenjutsu stands there with Mayo around his waist. Mayo gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Mayo drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kenjutsu gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Popoy Kenjutsu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Mayo scores with a one two! Kenjutsu had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Mayo throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Mayo fails to land with a series of punches.

Mayo gets the takedown into side control.
Mayo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kenjutsu is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Mayo off and has taken his back!

Kenjutsu has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Mayo has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Mayo is trying to stand back up.
Mayo wants to control his opponent's hands but Kenjutsu gets his hands free.
Mayo grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mayo is trying to get back to his feet but Kenjutsu has full control of the position and if anything, Mayo has just worked his way into a worse spot.
