The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Axelsson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Rackham throws a left and a right that both miss
and Axelsson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Rackham cracks Axelsson with a good jab.
We've been told by Rackham's head coaches at Montreal Fighter's Gym (5* Sparring) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Rackham lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Axelsson circles away quickly and effectively.
Axelsson lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

and Rackham counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

It looks like Johan Axelsson has been cut.
The crowd cheers as Axelsson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Rackham doesn't seem phased though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Rackham counters with a three punch combo that has Axelsson backing up. Axelsson nods at Rackham to acknowledge the strikes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rackham throws a chopping leg kick but Axelsson manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Rackham was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Rackham takes the fight into the clinch.

Axelsson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Axelsson clobbers Rackham with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

and Rackham counters with a crisp one two that drops Axelsson! Rackham thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Axelsson to his feet! Axelsson is in big trouble!

Rackham's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Axelsson connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Rackham scrambles back to his feet.

Rackham lands a big head kick that sends Axelsson tumbling to the mat! Rackham takes a step backwards and waves Axelsson back to his feet - he wants the finish!

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Axelsson backs away from a small jab... but Rackham lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Axelsson crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Rackham with a spectacular finish!
