Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Michael Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jordan Gracie will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Michael Wallace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jordan Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Micheangelo Fripello and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie clinches.
Gracie is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Wallace tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Wallace letting Gracie take a breather here.
Wallace is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Gracie gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Gracie pulls guard.
Gracie preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Wallace trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Wallace with a nice head shot there.
Gracie wants to stand but Wallace is controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wallace throwing strikes but missing.
Gracie keeping moving, preventing Wallace from controlling successfully.
Gracie wants to stand up but Wallace is controlling him.

Wallace distracts Gracie with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Wallace content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Wallace won't allow Gracie to get back to his feet.
Wallace pushes down on Gracie's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Nice strikes from Wallace there.
Wallace working the head and body with strikes.
Gracie looks like he's trying to stand up.

Wallace is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Wallace lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wallace is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Wallace scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie looks like he's trying to stand up.
Wallace is looking to take a break and control but Gracie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gracie kicks Wallace off and gets back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A kick lands to the mid section there for Gracie.
Gracie lands a right hook to the body.
Wallace shoots and misses
and Gracie counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Gracie has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Wallace. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gracie scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wallace closes this distance looking for a takedown but Gracie circles away.
Gracie tries to counter with a clinch but Wallace shakes him off and moves away.
Gracie tries to clinch up but Wallace circles away and keeps his distance.
Wallace misses with a takedown
and Gracie counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Wallace is breathing heavily.
Wallace misses with a takedown attempt
and Gracie counters with a stiff right hand.

Gracie lands a left and a right that send Wallace crashing to the mat, dazed. Gracie thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


It looks like Michael Wallace has been cut.
Gracie is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Wallace like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Wallace from another fist facial!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jordan Gracie!
