Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Juan Corrida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keisuke Takasugi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Corrida's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Shadowhunter. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 41 - 25 - 2, fighting out of London, Juan Corrida!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Keisuke Takasugi!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takasugi shoots in for a takedown but Corrida shows good takedown defense.
Takasugi has his takedown stuffed
and Corrida counters with a leg kick.
Corrida lands a slapping body shot.
Juan Corrida seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Takasugi fails with the takedown.
Juan Corrida has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Keisuke Takasugi.
Corrida fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Takasugi is out of range.
We've been informed that Takasugi has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Takasugi on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Corrida closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Corrida is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Takasugi sees it coming and defends easily.

Corrida is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Takasugi is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Takasugi has escaped and now he's on top!

Corrida escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Takasugi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Takasugi got a little sloppy there for a moment and Corrida has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Takasugi has managed to get both his arms back between Corrida's legs - danger averted.

Takasugi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Corrida doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Takasugi.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Corrida has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Takasugi is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Corrida.
Corrida manages to work his way to half guard, despite Takasugi's best efforts.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Takasugi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Corrida sprawls well initially but Takasugi persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Corrida bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Takasugi's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Takasugi is on top in guard.


Corrida is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Corrida wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Corrida is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Takasugi reverses the position - he's now on top in Corrida's guard.

Corrida is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Takasugi has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

You can see the frustration on Takasugi's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Juan Corrida overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Takasugi is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Corrida gets his way!
