PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jacques Diddles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Dilaxo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Jacques Diddles has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jacques Diddles seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Jacques Diddles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Jake Dilaxo!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Phil Schofield and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diddles closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dilaxo circles away.
Dilaxo wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Nice takedown defense from Dilaxo. No joy for Diddles on that attempt.

Diddles closes the distance and clinches.
Diddles tries to pull guard but Dilaxo won't allow it.

Dilaxo throws a right hand that Diddles ducks under and follows up with a left that Diddles also avoids with ease.

Diddles shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dilaxo's guard.
Diddles is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Dilaxo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Diddles. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Diddles's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Diddles seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dilaxo for as long as he can get away with.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Dilaxo leaves Diddles with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Dilaxo changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Dilaxo stalks Diddles and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Diddles's face. Diddles staggers backwards, shaken.

Dilaxo throws a right hand that Diddles ducks under and follows up with a left that Diddles also avoids with ease.

Diddles shoots for a double leg takedown but Dilaxo sprawls well. He's pushed Diddles's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Diddles throws an overhand right that lands on Dilaxo's shoulder, as Dilaxo tries to avoid the shot.

and Dilaxo counters with a left and a right that stings Diddles.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Diddles just misses with a punch to the body.
Dilaxo takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
No joy there for Dilaxo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Dilaxo darts in and clinches Diddles up against the cage.
Dilaxo gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Diddles.

Dilaxo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Dilaxo closes the distance and clinches.
Diddles keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Dilaxo's efforts to push away.
Dilaxo has Diddles pressed against the cage, preventing Diddles from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Dilaxo dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Diddles in particular looking to stall.

Jake Dilaxo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Diddles takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Diddles shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Dilaxo is trying to defend but Diddles finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Diddles takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Dilaxo has his hands clasped together around Diddles's back. He's all about the action.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Diddles works his way into side control.
Diddles misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Dilaxo wants to control but Diddles postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Dilaxo has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Dilaxo wants to hold on but Diddles pushes him away.

Jake Dilaxo is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dilaxo avoids a series of strikes thrown by Diddles.

I think Dilaxo has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
