David comes to the cage accompanied by The Who - Baba O'Riley. Robinson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Chase is better than the Catch by Motorhead. Craig David had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 33 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Craig David!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Verne Robinson!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
David swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Robinson drops down looking to force a counter takedown but David defends it well.
David wants to land a leg kick but Robinson is out of range.
Robinson tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
David keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
David throws an off balance right hand
and Robinson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

And Robinson tries to counter it with a takedown but David pushes his down on his head and steps out.
David throws a series of punches but Robinson avoids them all with ease.
An inside leg kick from David misses.

and Robinson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Robinson.
David is looking to stand up but Robinson isn't so interested in that idea.
Robinson being controlled here momentarily.
Robinson pushing down on David's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
David tries to get to full guard but Robinson has control of the leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Robinson is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for David!
David is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Robinson is looking to work his way around to David's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

David tries to reverse the position but Robinson maintains control.
David tries to lock up and control but Robinson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
David is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Robinson mounts David! Really nice guard pass there!
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Robinson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. David can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
David knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Robinson on the ground.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Robinson seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but David is holding on tight.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Robinson fails to move to back control.

Robinson is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! David is forced to tap! Great finish!

In his post fight interview, Verne Robinson gave a big smile as he said 'I expect a win and that's what I got. I would like to thank the promoter for the match. lastly, I would like to tell my opponent to get a new job. You are nothing but a pompous arse that will never be able to match someone like me. You have no business in my cage - I suggest you stay out of it.'.
