Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Bulger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sea Level Cain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Bulger looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Bulger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sea Level Cain!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cain closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bulger to the mat! Bulger manages to get full guard.
Cain throws a big elbow that misses.
Cain pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bulger is keeping the position for now.
Bulger has a closed guard, preventing Cain from standing up.
Bulger keeping moving, preventing Cain from controlling successfully.
Cain must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cain prevents Bulger from getting back to his feet.
Cain trying to control the position from guard on top but Bulger is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Bulger is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Cain's half guard.

Cain tries to get to full guard but Bulger has control of the leg.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Bulger looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Cain with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Bulger working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Cain wants to get back to full guard.

Bulger not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Bulger definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Cain wants to stand and escape but Bulger is having none of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Bulger closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Cain quickly recovers to half guard.

Cain tries to kick Bulger off but Bulger keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Bulger seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bulger connects with a nice short shot to Cain's temple.
Bulger takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Cain really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bulger. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Bulger dominated that round.

Cain misses with the body kick

and Bulger decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Cain's guard.
Cain should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Bulger distracts Cain with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Bulger is in close to Cain's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Cain throws his legs up looking for a submission but Bulger uses it to pass to side control.
Cain is working to avoid the ground and pound but Bulger connects with a decent elbow.
Cain is breathing heavily.

Bulger has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bulger cracks Cain with a big right hand but Cain just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Bulger lands a nice forearm strike.


Cain is rocked!
Cain tries to improve position but can't.
Bulger works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Cain is still in real trouble! Can Bulger finish him?
Bulger prevents Cain from escaping the position.

A big shot lands for Bulger! That's hurt Cain! Will he recover? Bulger fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
