The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ong throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ong lands a slapping body shot.
Ong rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mughes moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ong avoids the body shot from Mughes.
Mughes takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Mughes misses the jab.
Ong lands with a nice combination. Mughes backs away looking to recover.
Ong looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Mughes darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Ground and pound from Mughes.

Mughes wants to work for an arm triangle but Ong is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Ong wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mughes is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Mughes not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Mughes stops Ong from getting back to his feet.
Mughes works his foot free and advances to mount.

Mughes is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Ong has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Ong!
Ong would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Mughes is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Ong frees his head nicely. Oh but Mughes has switched to an armbar! Ong is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
