Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bjj Ground (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Dirt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bjj Ground!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joe Dirt!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Seu Braga and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dirt has managed to clinch.
Ground is looking to break free of the clinch but Dirt has double underhooks.

Dirt is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Ground can't fight it off and eventually Dirt manages to take the fight to the floor. Ground looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Dirt forces his way into half guard.
Ground moves into full guard.
Ground looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Dirt is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Ground not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dirt stays in close to Ground's body and controls the position.

Ground working for a triangle but Dirt defends it easily.

Dirt controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Ground keeping full guard, as Dirt tries to pass.
Dirt controlling from the top position.
Ground wants to sweep but no luck.
Dirt controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Dirt passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Dirt tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dirt has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Dirt tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Dirt wants to control but Ground is keeping him busy.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Ground is looking to reverse the position.
Dirt controls the position.
Dirt's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Dirt is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ground knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Ground is looking to reverse the position.
Ground tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Dirt easily slips into full mount!
Dirt wants to take his opponent's back but Ground doesn't allow it.
Ground tries to reverse the position but Dirt maintains control.
Ground prevents Dirt from taking his back.

Dirt is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Ground is surviving well by controlling Dirt's body position as best he can.
Dirt takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Dirt trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Ground slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Ground is looking for a sweep. Dirt is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dirt gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Dirt lands a takedown into guard.
Dirt won't allow Ground to sweep him here.
Dirt stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ground swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dirt trying to control but Ground is working from the bottom.
Dirt has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Ground looking to control.
Ground keeping full guard, as Dirt tries to pass.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ground can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dirt controls the pace.
Ground keeping moving, preventing Dirt from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Dirt slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Ground looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Dirt is trying to control but can't.

Ground is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dirt sees it coming and defends easily.
Ground could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Dirt works his way to full guard. Good work.
Dirt wants to sweep here but Ground controlling him for the moment.
Dirt controls Ground momentarily but Ground frees himself.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ground looking to sit in guard and control but Dirt gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Dirt is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Ground trying to control the position.
Dirt throwing strikes from guard but Ground blocks nicely.
Dirt trying to control the position from guard on top but Ground is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Dirt wants to pass the guard but Ground is keeping the position.
Dirt forces his way into half guard.
Well, if Dirt is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Dirt is looking to advance position but Ground won't allow it.
Dirt looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ground is looking to control Dirt's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ground avoid being mounted?
Dirt trying to control from half guard but Ground is working away.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Dirt wants to pass to mount but Ground is defending the position.
Dirt prevents Ground from improving his position.

Dirt is trying to work for a kimura but Ground is defending well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Joe Dirt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Ground clinches up against the cage.

Dirt manages to pull guard.
Ground pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dirt is keeping the position for now.
Dirt looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Dirt looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ground is one step ahead there.
Dirt is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dirt pulls Ground in to control the position.
Ground tries to free his leg and advance position but Dirt is retaining full guard.

Dirt wants to sweep here but Ground controlling him for the moment.
Dirt is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Dirt keeping full guard, as Ground tries to pass.
Dirt bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ground's guard.

Ground keeping moving, preventing Dirt from controlling successfully.
Ground might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Dirt got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ground has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dirt has managed to get both his arms back between Ground's legs - danger averted.
Dirt sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ground's guard.
Ground won't allow Dirt to pass to mount.

Dirt wants to work for an arm triangle but Ground is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Ground is trying to get back to full guard.
Dirt trying to pass the guard but Ground defending well.
Dirt works his way into side control.
Dirt moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Dirt wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ground keeps working.
Ground is being controlled here.

Dirt takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Dirt is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Dirt is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ground has escaped the position, nice work there.
A lull in the action here.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dirt moves into full mount!

Dirt jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Ground is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Ground and Dirt has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Ground is not content to let Dirt control the position.
Ground struggling a bit here.
Joe Dirt is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Joe Dirt comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Dirt has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
