PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brown comes into the arena with Method Man - Judgement Day blaring out of the sound system. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joe Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Steven Evans!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Ren Mimura and Yuuki Gou.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans misses with a right hand
letting Brown counter with a right hand.

Brown lands a big head kick that sends Evans tumbling to the mat! Brown takes a step backwards and waves Evans back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Steven Evans has been cut.
Evans tries to bum rush Brown with a series of wild strikes but Brown uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Brown thinks about countering with a body kick.
Brown lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Evans looks to land a combination but Brown avoids it well.
Brown scores with a kick to the body.
Evans looks winded!
Brown throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Evans misses with a takedown
and Brown counters with a good low kick that Evans was not able to check.
Brown explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Brown throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Evans has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
A slapping body kick lands there for Brown.
Brown moves into range and connects with a jab.
Evans on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Brown. Brown obviously looking to wear him down.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brown lands a leg kick that knocks Evans off balance momentarily.

Brown has Evans up against the ropes in a clinch.
Brown working Evans over with knees to the body.
Brown pushes Evans back against the ropes and unloads with a body punch.
Brown landing knees to the head.
Evans has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Brown.

Brown drops Evans with a big knee straight up the middle! Evans is covering up against the ropes but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!

Evans is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
An inside leg kick lands from Brown.
Evans is still on wobbly legs! Can Brown finish him?
Brown scores with a body shot.
Evans seems to have recovered his senses.
Brown dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Evans. That did some damage!
Brown looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Brown backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Evans's temple! It sends Evans violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Brown celebrates and the doctors try to help Evans!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Flying Knee). Joe Brown!
