Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Travis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Brew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Travis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matt Brew!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brew drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Travis had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Brew defends it easily.

Travis scrambles and gets back to his feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Travis looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Brew shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Brew was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Brew decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Travis really is a fat lump.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Travis pivots, looking for a leg kick but Brew is out of range and Travis settles back down.
Brew wants to counter with a clinch but Travis pushes him away.

Travis gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Brew wants to pass the guard but Travis is keeping the position.
Brew slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Travis has control of Brew's left arm, preventing Brew from doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Travis working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Brew.
Travis throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Travis wants to stand and escape but Brew is having none of it.

Brew stands up from guard. Let's bang!
David Travis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Brew shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Travis's guard.

Brew wants to pass the guard but Travis is keeping the position.

Travis looking to control.

Travis is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Brew presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Brew is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Travis can't fight it off and eventually Brew manages to take the fight to the floor. Travis looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Travis has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Brew is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Travis jumps guard but Brew stands there with Travis around his waist. Travis gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Brew gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Travis pushes Brew off and gets back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Brew bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Travis explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Travis dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Brew throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Travis on the side of the head.
David Travis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Brew shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Brew was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Travis bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Matt Brew seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Brew gets a takedown into half guard.
Travis preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

Travis makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Brew bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Brew connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Travis some visible discomfort.

Brew goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Travis has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Brew but great work by Travis.
Brew is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Travis asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Brew is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Travis is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Brew has escaped the position, nice work there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Travis is staying tight to Brew's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Brew is trying to improve his position.
David Travis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Brew is breathing heavily.
Brew can't do much from the bottom here.
Travis looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Brew is avoiding damage well.
Brew takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Brew is working to avoid the ground and pound but Travis connects with a decent elbow.
Travis is putting a hurting on Brew here, landing some big shots from side control.
Travis throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Brew works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Travis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Travis seems to be looking for submissions.
Brew has hold of Travis's hands but Travis slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Travis stands up from half guard.
Travis tries to clinch but Brew moves out of range.

Brew closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Travis quickly recovers to half guard.
Travis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Travis is looking for a sweep. Brew is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Brew trying to control from half guard but Travis is working away.

Travis has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Brew is on him like a limpet, forcing Travis back against the cage.
Travis looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Brew trying to land knees to the body.

Travis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Travis closes the distance and clinches.
Brew misses with a punch to the body.
Travis leaning his opponent against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Travis dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Travis moves in looking to clinch but Brew pushes him off.

Brew closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brew is working for a kimura but Travis is defending it quite comfortably.
Brew tries to pass the half guard into mount. Travis knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Travis kicks Brew off and gets back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Brew closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brew slows the pace down in half guard.
Brew takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Brew prevents Travis from improving his position.
Travis slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Brew tries to free his leg and advance position but Travis is retaining full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Travis has Brew pulled in close to control his posture.
Travis wants to stand and escape but Brew is having none of it.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Brew trying to control but Travis is working from the bottom.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Brew clobbers Travis with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Brew looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Travis wants to stand but Brew is controlling the position.
Brew sitting in guard here, content to control.

Travis scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Travis gets caught napping as Brew dives in and scores a takedown. Travis manages to retain guard.

Travis manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Travis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Brew looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Travis!

Travis throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Travis drives through and clinches with Brew against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
David Travis showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Travis, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
