The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Martinez. Douglas does a little dance to reset his feet.
Douglas blocks a head kick by Martinez.
Douglas takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Douglas scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Douglas is nestled in close to Martinez, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Martinez wants to get back to his feet.
Douglas slips a nice elbow through Martinez's hands, connecting with Martinez's forehead.
Douglas really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Martinez is trying to maintain the position but Douglas is very close to passing his half guard.
Douglas looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Douglas connects with a nice short shot to Martinez's temple.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Douglas is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Martinez is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
