These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

American dives in and scores a takedown into Borg's guard.
American throws a strike but Borg rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Borg with a flurry of punches that miss.
American has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Borg has passed into side control.

American takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

American's coaches at London MMA Club have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

American tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Borg wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Borg has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Ueshibas Temple of Cloud Warriors. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Borg loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have American scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Borg land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Borg stands and salutes the crowd.
