Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Herbert Cote!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mike Kina!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Edson Gomes and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kina rushes Cote and presses him up against the cage.
Stalling in the clinch from Kina.
Kina has a couple of punches blocked by Cote.
Kina tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Kina has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Cote uses from the top position.
Kina manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cote manages to get himself to full guard.

Cote is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Cote keeping moving, preventing Kina from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kina decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Cote, up you get!
Horrible takedown attempt by Kina or perhaps it was just good defense by Cote, which made it look bad.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A chopping leg kick lands by Kina.

Kina scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Kina is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Cote tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Kina looking to control but Cote is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cote tries to reverse the position but Kina maintains control.
Kina controlling the position easily from mount.
Kina wants to control the pace but Cote is squirming around nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kina takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Kina tries to control but Cote wriggling away.
Cote is just holding on here. Kina manages to take his back.
Kina lands strikes to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kina biding his time, controlling Cote.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cote is covering up but some of the strikes from Kina are getting through and doing damage.
Cote prevents Kina from getting a body triangle.

Kina looking to break Cote's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Cote remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Kina will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Kina has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Cote is in real trouble here. Kina gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Cote is tapping out! Kina wins by rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Mike Kina!
