The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith swats away the attempt to clinch by Michaels.
Nice uppercut lands for Smith. That snapped Michaels's head back.
It looks like Shawn Michaels has been cut.
Smith paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Michaels shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Smith manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Smith pushes Michaels off and scrambles back to his feet.
Smith drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Michaels is trying to escape the position but Smith is controlling the position.
Smith lands a nice forearm strike.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Michaels is still in real trouble! Can Smith finish him?
Smith in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Michaels looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Smith turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
