Verner has chosen Lose Yourself - Eminem as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Jacob Verner will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rey sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Verner lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Rey looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Verner!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rey is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Verner knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Rey cracks Verner with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Rey immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Verner is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Rey!

After winning the bout, Angel Rey thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
