The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hartikainen closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Lott avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Hartikainen.
Hartikainen wants to control but Lott is keeping him busy.
An elbow from Hartikainen crashes against the mat.

Hartikainen decides to stand up, so the ref orders Lott to his feet.
Hartikainen shoots in but Lott avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Lott gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Lott could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hartikainen throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Lott tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hartikainen is in Lott's guard.
Hartikainen trying to control the position from guard on top but Lott is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hartikainen is looking to stand up but Lott won't let him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lott is on top in guard.

Hartikainen looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Lott puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lott is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hartikainen doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lott.
Hartikainen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lott. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Lott is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hartikainen sees it coming and defends easily.

Hartikainen is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Lott has latched onto it... Big trouble! Lott pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Hartikainen is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Lott!
