PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between William Blake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barack Obama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blake comes to the cage accompanied by Dead Man. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Barack Obama enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, William Blake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Barack Obama!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blake keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Obama.
A shot to the liver by Blake. Beautiful body shot.
Barack Obama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Obama lands with a cross.
Obama throws a combination that misses
and Blake connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.


It looks like Barack Obama has been cut.
Obama has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Obama ducks under a wild hook from Blake.
Obama avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Obama.

Blake has Obama up against the cage in a clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Blake fails to land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Obama fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Blake avoids it really well and circles away.

William Blake has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Barack Obama.
Obama shoots in but Blake avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Blake was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Obama changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Blake tries to avoid it but Obama manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Blake to the ground. Blake escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The crowd cheers as Blake lands an impressive looking overhand right. Obama doesn't seem phased though.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Blake gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Obama looks for a takedown but Blake sprawls well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Blake has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Obama is looking to reverse the position.

Obama regains full guard. Nicely done.
Blake scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Obama has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Blake is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Obama.

Obama throws a left and a right that both miss
letting Blake counter with a right hand.
Blake is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Obama can do to turn this around?

Obama manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Blake manages to get himself to full guard.

Obama postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Blake is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Obama, into his guard.

Obama has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Blake can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Obama throws his legs up looking for a submission but Blake uses it to pass to side control.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Blake has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Obama clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Blake has Obama flattened out and is raining down punches.
Blake slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Blake is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Obama is tapping out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). William Blake!
A relieved looking William Blake thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
