Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dario Cop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Uiva Nakki!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakki bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Cop's head.
It looks like Dario Cop has been cut.
Cop takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Nakki blocks a low kick nicely.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Nakki! But no joy.
Cop with a lazy takedown attempt
and Nakki counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Cop throws a nice looking combination but Nakki bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Nakki jabs Cop to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Cop shoots and misses
letting Nakki counter with a right hand.
Nakki leaves Cop with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dario Cop. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cop is breathing heavily.
Nakki lands an overhand right.
Cop throws a right hand that Nakki ducks under and follows up with a left that Nakki also avoids with ease.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cop shoots and misses
and Nakki counters with a crisp right hand that drops Cop! Nakki lets Cop back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Cop is rocked!
Cop throws a right and a left that both miss.
Oh Cop is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Nakki lands a nice shot to the body.
Nakki throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Cop seems to have got his legs back now.
Nakki clobbers Cop with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
and Nakki counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Cop! He's just covering up as Nakki starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Uiva Nakki!
During a confident post fight interview, Uiva Nakki thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
