Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Emil Fisker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emil Fisker has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Emil Fisker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dan Mendez!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendez misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Mendez swinging wilding here.

Mendez closes the distance and clinches.
Mendez trying to land knees to the body.
Mendez has Fisker pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Fisker manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Fisker breaks the clinch.
Mendez throws a head kick that misses.
Nice takedown defense from Fisker. No joy for Mendez on that attempt.
Emil Fisker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Mendez.

Fisker moves into the clinch successfully.
Fisker's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Mendez jumps guard but Fisker stands there with Mendez around his waist. Mendez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Fisker seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

Mendez tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Fisker prevents the takedown attempt.
Mendez can't break the clinch.
Fisker stalling against the cage.
Mendez tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Fisker just stands there and leans against the cage.
Fisker scores with a nice hook to the head.
Mendez is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Mendez misses with a punch to the body.
Mendez wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Fisker lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Mendez backwards.
Mendez wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Fisker has him pressed against the cage.
Fisker lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Mendez backwards.

Fisker drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mendez pulls his leg out and moves away.
Mendez slips a straight right by Fisker.

and Fisker counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Mendez!

Mendez wants to hold on but Fisker pushes him away.
Fisker tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Fisker seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mendez for as long as he can get away with.
Mendez is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fisker is breathing heavily.
Mendez is looking to get to half guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Fisker controlling the position easily from mount.
Mendez tries to hold on but Fisker pushes him away.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mendez is working to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



The fight moves into the clinch position.
Fisker keeps control of Mendez as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Mendez swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Fisker is pushing Mendez up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Mendez jumps guard but Fisker stands there with Mendez around his waist. Mendez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Mendez misses with a punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mendez has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Fisker avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Mendez wants a takedown but no success here.

so Fisker counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Fisker passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Mendez is being controlled here.
Mendez tries to improve position but can't.

Fisker moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Mendez is trying to control Fisker's posture but Fisker avoids it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Fisker fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Mendez shoots and misses

and Fisker counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Mendez is trying to control the position but Fisker postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

and Fisker decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mendez's guard.
Mendez is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Mendez looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Fisker puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Mendez tries to get to full guard but Fisker has control of the leg.
Fisker is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Mendez can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Fisker controls the pace.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Mendez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Mendez had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Fisker is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Mendez Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Fisker's back instead.

Emil Fisker overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Mendez is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Fisker defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Fisker covering up well under a barage of strikes.

Mendez has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Fisker has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Fisker turns into Mendez and is now in his guard.
Dan Mendez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Mendez is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

And that's the end of the fight!
Emil Fisker showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Fisker has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
