PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between MD Tank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sor Jaime Lannister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sor Jaime Lannister will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sor Jaime Lannister!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Matheus Silva and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tank fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Tank throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lannister works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Lannister really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tank. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Tank lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Tank.

Tank really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Lannister.
Tank gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.
Lannister is breathing heavily.

Tank is riding his opponent, not letting Lannister buck him off.
Lannister is covering up but some of the strikes from Tank are getting through and doing damage.
Tank is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

and Tank counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Tank is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Tank seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lannister for as long as he can get away with.

Tank manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Lannister on his heels. He'll look to pass Lannister's guard now, I'm sure.
Lannister wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Tank manages to pass to side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lannister can do anything to dispel that myth.

Tank drops an elbow to the side of Lannister's head.

Tank looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Tank.
Tank looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Lannister with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Tank not doing much here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that's the end of the fight!
MD Tank showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tank, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

MD Tank decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
