Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andy Rodgers!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brock Cannon!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Francis DeMontford and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cannon gets tackled into the cage by Rodgers. Rodgers maintains the clinch.
Rodgers gets underhooks to prevent Cannon's takedown attempt.
Rodgers throws a head punch that misses.
Rodgers is leaning against Cannon and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Rodgers fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Cannon is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Rodgers is defending well.
Rodgers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Cannon decides to pull guard.

Rodgers decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Rodgers tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cannon swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Cannon has closed the distance and engaged Rodgers in a clinch.

Rodgers breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Cannon gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Cannon seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Cannon wants to work for an arm triangle but Rodgers is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Cannon is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Rodgers on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rodgers tries to get out of the position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cannon is looking for a kimura but Rodgers is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cannon to get the leverage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

and Rodgers counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Cannon has Rodgers pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Cannon pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Rodgers tumbling to the mat - Cannon dives into Rodgers's guard.

Rodgers has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cannon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Cannon covers up and Rodgers unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
