The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Edwards shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Thomas defends it nicely.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Edwards has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Thomas has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Edwards jumps guard but Thomas stands there with Edwards around his waist. Edwards gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Thomas blocks an elbow strike from Edwards.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Edwards is fighting off a takedown attempt but Thomas is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Edwards to the mat. Edwards regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
