Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carrol Randolph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kerron Kangal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Carrol Randolph!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kerron Kangal!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Micheangelo Fripello and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Randolph shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Randolph throwing shots but Kangal is blocking nicely.
Kangal regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Randolph.
Randolph is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Randolph wants to stand but Kangal is controlling his posture from full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Randolph shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kangal defends it nicely.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Randolph wants to stand up but Kangal has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Randolph is trying to work for a kimura but Kangal is defending well.

Randolph stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

and Randolph counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Randolph.

Kangal pushes Randolph off and scrambles back to his feet.

Randolph has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kangal.
Kangal throws a chopping leg kick but Randolph manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Randolph is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kangal sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Randolph gets tackled into the cage by Kangal. Kangal maintains the clinch.

Kangal ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kangal no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Kangal uses the cage to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kerron Kangal dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Kangal stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kangal wants it to stay on the feet.
Kangal throws out a counter right but Randolph avoids it with no problem.

Randolph is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Kangal.

Kangal's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Randolph goes for a double leg but Kangal avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kangal continues to drive forward.

Randolph is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Randolph wants to get up but he can't break Kangal's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Kangal is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Randolph is aware though and is defending well.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Randolph with a flurry of punches that miss.
Kerron Kangal has got the better of the ground game so far.
Randolph wants to stand but Kangal is controlling his posture from full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kangal is working an open guard so Randolph takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Kerron Kangal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kangal throws a leg kick but Randolph moved away.

Randolph turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Randolph manages to end up in side control.

Randolph stands up and beckons Kangal to his feet.

Randolph jumps into guard, dragging Kangal to the mat.
Randolph pulls Kangal in close to prevent any damage.

Kangal has gone for a leg lock! Randolph slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kangal's guard.

Randolph got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kangal has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Randolph has managed to get both his arms back between Kangal's legs - danger averted.
Randolph looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Randolph has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Kerron Kangal showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Randolph seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Randolph is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Kangal presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Randolph has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Kangal clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Randolph is controlling the position but Kangal somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kangal turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Kangal drives through and clinches with Randolph against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Randolph's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Randolph looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kangal is one step ahead there.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Kangal drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kangal jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Kangal wants to control from the top but Randolph keeps moving.
Kangal stops Randolph from standing up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Carrol Randolph has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kerron Kangal is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

I would just about give that final round to Kerron Kangal.
I've got Kangal winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
