PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Larry Luutch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jin Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luutch comes to the cage accompanied by job2 do - doo doo doo. On his way into the cage it seems that Larry Luutch has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Larry Luutch seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Larry Luutch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jin Lee!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lee shoots in and bounces Luutch off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Luutch keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully.
Luutch really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Luutch is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lee is controlling him.
Luutch preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Lee advances to half guard.
Luutch wants to improve his position but Lee is controlling well.

Lee is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Luutch as he works his way to full guard.
Lee is looking to advance position but Luutch has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Luutch wants to stand but Lee is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Lee working to try and regain half guard.
Lee is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Luutch will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Lee bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Lee won't allow Luutch to sweep him here.
Luutch is trying to control the position but Lee postures up.

Lee must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Luutch has momentary wrist control but Lee slips an elbow through the middle.
Luutch keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully.
Lee advances position into side control!
Lee is putting a hurting on Luutch here, landing some big shots from side control.
Luutch parries the strikes from Lee easily there. Lee is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Luutch to escape.
Lee looking to control but instead Luutch has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Lee trying to control from half guard but Luutch is working away.

Lee is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Lee passes to full mount!
Luutch is breathing heavily.

Lee goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Luutch is on top in guard.

Lee has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Luutch is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Lee.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Luutch decides to stand up, so the ref orders Lee to his feet.

Lee shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Lee stops Luutch from getting back to his feet.
Luutch gets full guard.
Luutch is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lee is controlling him.
Lee trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jin Lee dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Lee drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Lee postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Luutch is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lee, into his guard.

Luutch stands up and waves to Lee to follow him.

Lee scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Lee is just content to waste time from the top position. Luutch takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Lee thows a big elbow that misses.
Luutch wants to stand and escape but Lee is having none of it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lee passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Lee scoring with punches from side control.

Lee tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Luutch defending against the ground and pound.
Lee prevents Luutch from escaping the position.

Lee is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Luutch is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Luutch can't do much from the bottom here.

Luutch is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Lee asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Sloppy strikes there by Lee.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lee.
A head kick misses from Luutch.

Lee drives through and clinches with Luutch against the cage.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Luutch creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Lee jumps guard and drags Luutch to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lee throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Luutch escapes and throws Lee's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Lee gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Luutch wants to stand but Lee has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Lee throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Lee is looking to improve his position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Lee is trying to control but can't.

Lee actively working from the bottom here.
Lee wants to control but Luutch passes into side.
Luutch connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Lee some visible discomfort.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Luutch feints and then cracks Lee's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Lee down.
Luutch closes the distance looking to clinch

and Lee counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jin Lee showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Lee tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Luutch swivels and escapes.
Luutch shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lee pinned against the cage. Lee gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Luutch throws a body punch but Lee moves out of range.
Luutch tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Lee gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Lee is struggling to control the position.

Lee escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Lee closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Lee trying to control the action but Luutch is working from the bottom.
Lee is pressing down on Luutch's thigh, looking to free his foot. Luutch is holding on for now.

Lee is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Well, if Lee is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Jin Lee has got the better of the ground game so far.
Lee missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Luutch is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Lee working Luutch over with strikes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Luutch taking some punishment here, with Lee in his half guard.
Lee uses his free foot to push down on Luutch's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Luutch.
Luutch wants to hold on but Lee pushes him away.

Luutch defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Lee.
Lee throws some wild stikes that Luutch manages to avoid easily.

Lee stands up from mount. Strange move.

Lee looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Luutch!

Lee moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Luutch has worked his arm free - good work by Luutch!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Lee wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Luutch, who protects the arm well.

Lee thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Lee swings around for an armbar but Luutch sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Lee's guard.
Lee is trying to keep Luutch in close.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Luutch looking to pass the guard.
Lee trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Lee controls Luutch momentarily but Luutch frees himself.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Lee changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Luutch tries to avoid it but Lee manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Luutch to the ground. Luutch escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Larry Luutch has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Luutch thows a body kick. Lee tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Luutch tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jin Lee is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Larry Luutch is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Lee shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Luutch's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jin Lee comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Lee winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
