Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Brennan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Rubio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Diego Rubio enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jeff Brennan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Diego Rubio!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brennan drives through and clinches with Rubio against the cage.
Brennan tries to pull guard but Rubio holds him up against the cage and eventually Brennan drops back down to his feet.
Rubio tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Rubio gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Rubio controlling the action here.
Rubio passes to side control.
Brennan avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Rubio.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rubio is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Brennan is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Rubio controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rubio throwing shots but missing, from side control.

Rubio thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Brennan gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Rubio jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Brennan manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Brennan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rubio on the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Rubio creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Brennan sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Rubio takes a little break here. Brennan wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Let's hope that Rubio has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
It looks like Rubio might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Rubio looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Rubio tries to move to mount but Brennan blocks the move with his legs.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Rubio rushes Brennan and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Brennan is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Rubio Piles on the pressure and Brennan crumples to the floor! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Diego Rubio!
