PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lester Hudson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Owen Leidner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Owen Leidner was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lester Hudson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Owen Leidner!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Micheangelo Fripello.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Leidner bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
A lull in the action here as Leidner stalls from top position.
Hudson pushes Leidner away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Leidner gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Hudson bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Hudson turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Hudson connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Leidner shoots in and gets a takedown into Hudson's guard.

Hudson scrambles and gets back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hudson slaps away a takedown attempt from Leidner, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Hudson lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Hudson.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hudson keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Hudson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hudson throws a low kick but Leidner avoids it.
Leidner uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hudson.
Lester Hudson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hudson clobbers Leidner with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Hudson lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Hudson thuds his right hand into Leidner's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Leidner closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hudson to the mat! Hudson manages to get full guard.

Hudson kicks Leidner off and gets to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Leidner slips a straight right by Hudson.
Hudson misses with a straight right.
Hudson throws out a loose jab but Leidner uses good head movement to avoid it.
That kick from Hudson tenderised Leidner's leg. Leidner is trying to keep his angry face on.
Hudson bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Leidner's head backwards.
A punch lands to the side of Leidner 's head but he takes it in his stride.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hudson lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Hudson throws a lazy right hand but Leidner sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Hudson lands an overhand right.
A cross from Hudson lands.
Good standup being displayed there by Hudson as he connects with a hook.
Hudson moves out of range of the body kick.
Leidner shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hudson pinned against the cage. Hudson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The fighters circle momentarily. Hudson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Hudson throws a leg kick which misses Leidner's front leg but catches the back leg as Leidner tries to avoid it.
Hudson smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Leidner is rocked!
Hudson sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Leidner's defenses. It connects perfectly with Leidner's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
