Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mamba keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Alves drops his hands momentarily and Mamba takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Alves jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Alves takes one to the side of the head.
Alves with a lazy takedown attempt
and Mamba counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Alves takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Mamba slips under a jab.
Mamba blocks the body kick.
Alves misses with a lunging right hand
and Mamba counters with a straight right hand.

Alves is rocked!

It looks like Renzo Alves has been cut.
Alves throws a head kick that misses.
Oh Alves is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mamba keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Alves .
Alves seems to have got his legs back now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Alves stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Mamba.
Mamba misses with a hook. Alves ducked under it nicely.
Mamba jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Alves keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Alves is defended easily by Mamba.

Alves fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Alves misses with a hook.
Mamba looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Mamba looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Alves takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Alves shoots in but Mamba avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Renzo Alves . That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mamba is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Alves .
Alves looks to throw the jab but Mamba is out of range.

Alves throws a shot from downtown. Mamba moves away and avoids it.
Mamba gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
A shot to the liver by Mamba. Beautiful body shot.
Alves takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Alves bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Mamba drops Alves with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Alves looks back up at him and smiles so Mamba waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Alves pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Alves lands a jab to the nose.
Mamba looks to land a left hand but Alves moved out of range nicely.
Alves shoots in looking for a takedown. Mamba tries to sprawl out of it but Alves keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mamba manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Mamba lands with a hook. Alves tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Alves on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
A slow jab from Alves misses its intended target.
Mamba walks into a left hand.
Alves slips under a jab.
Mamba lands a nice shot that snaps Alves 's head back.
Alves doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Mamba misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A little feinted left hand from Alves on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Renzo Alves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mamba lands a big right hand that sends Alves crashing to the mat! Mamba stays standing though and waves Alves back to his feet!
Mamba is stalking Alves . Alves circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Mamba, and it's lights out! Alves really payed the price for that rookie mistake.
