Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matty Markos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Pierce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pierce throws a half hearted mid kick.
Pierce throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Markos appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Markos fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Pierce to the ground. Markos is now in Pierce's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Pierce manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Pierce effectively controlling the action here.

Pierce pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Markos!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Markos shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Markos is controlling the pace.
Markos seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Pierce controlling the position well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pierce is looking to control Markos's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pierce avoid being mounted?
Markos wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pierce keeps working.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Pierce is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Pierce has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Markos. Oh but Pierce has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Markos goes limp - he's gone! Pierce jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
