The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanderson stuffs the takedown attempt from Bateman. Bateman gets slowly back to his feet.
Bateman is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sanderson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Sanderson half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

We've been hearing good reports from Sanderson's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Sanderson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bateman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sanderson has managed to get both his arms back between Bateman's legs - danger averted.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Bateman pushes a forearm under Sanderson's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Sanderson is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

An out of breath Patrick Bateman thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
Cael Sanderson was interviewed post fight and said 'Thanks for everyone for their support. Sorry I let you down but I promise to come back stronger than ever. Thank you!'.
