The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aldridge throws a sloppy head kick and Colombu moves out of range easily.

Colombu moves into range and clinches up with Aldridge.
I was talking to Aldridge's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Colombu is trying to drag Aldridge to the mat but Aldridge just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Colombu is trying to trip Aldridge. He has hold of a leg but Aldridge is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Colombu persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Colombu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Aldridge swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Colombu shoots in looking for a takedown. Aldridge tries to sprawl out of it but Colombu keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Aldridge manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Colombu gets to his feet and stands over Aldridge, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Aldridge felt that one! Colombu unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Aldridge from any more punishment!
