PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Clarence Malone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tito Ortiss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ortiss decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Malone keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Malone is trying to control but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ortiss prevents Malone from standing back up.

Ortiss looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Malone with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Malone is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ortiss is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Ortiss winds up and cracks Malone with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Malone had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Ortiss is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Malone Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Ortiss's back instead.
Ortiss tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ortiss can do anything to dispel that myth.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
