PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Penn Harlow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonny Lipton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harlow comes to the cage accompanied by Led Zeppelin - Kashmir. Lipton has chosen Scorpions - No One Like You as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lipton fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Harlow sprawls well initially but Lipton persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Harlow wants to control but Lipton is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Lipton bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Lipton escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Lipton tries to pull guard but Harlow holds him up against the cage and eventually Lipton drops back down to his feet.
Harlow is pressed up against the cage. Lipton has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Harlow down to the mat. Harlow avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Lipton shoots in and drives through. Harlow sprawls well.
Penn Harlow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jonny Lipton.

Harlow gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Lipton decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Lipton must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lipton can do anything to dispel that myth.

Harlow has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Lipton off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Jonny Lipton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Harlow feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
