Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Artem Korotkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Oliveira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Oliveira has chosen Marcelo D2 - Desabafo as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 20 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Artem Korotkov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ricardo Oliveira!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Sosuke Kotani and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Korotkov misses with a double jab.
Korotkov wants to clinch up but Oliveira keeps it at a distance.
Oliveira throws a quick inside leg kick.
Korotkov connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Oliveira momentarily.
Oliveira displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Korotkov throws out the jab.
Oliveira's coach down at Tōshi was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Oliveira's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
A combination from Korotkov does no damage.

Oliveira wants to counter with a clinch but Korotkov pushes him away.
Oliveira goes for a double leg but Korotkov avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Korotkov continues to drive forward.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Oliveira won't allow Korotkov to get back to his feet.
Oliveira is looking to work some ground and pound but Korotkov has wrist control.

Oliveira is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Oliveira thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Korotkov controls Oliveira momentarily but Oliveira frees himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Korotkov is pulling down on Oliveira's head to control his posture.

Oliveira thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Oliveira throws a big elbow that misses.
Oliveira stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Korotkov swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Oliveira had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Korotkov defends it easily.

Oliveira is pulling down on Korotkov's head. It's preventing any offense from Korotkov, at least for the moment.
Korotkov is working Oliveira over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

We've been hearing good reports from Korotkov's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Korotkov stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Oliveira has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Korotkov manages to get his head free but now Oliveira has transitioned to an armbar! Korotkov grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Oliveira! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

A very excited looking Ricardo Oliveira made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
