Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlo Lott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sanzhar Nurpulaev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Carlo Lott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sanzhar Nurpulaev!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lott clinches up with Nurpulaev and pushes him back against the cage.
Nurpulaev looking for a takedown.

Nurpulaev tries to pull guard but Lott holds him up against the cage and eventually Nurpulaev drops back down to his feet.
Lott could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Lott keeping moving, preventing Nurpulaev from controlling successfully.

Nurpulaev stays in close to Lott's body and controls the position.
Lott might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Lott working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nurpulaev doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nurpulaev manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lott is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Lott is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Nurpulaev defends well.

Lott is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Lott has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Nurpulaev is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Nurpulaev thows a huge punch but Lott dodges it nicely.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Nurpulaev tries to pass the half guard into mount. Lott knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Nurpulaev stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Lott to get to his feet.
Sanzhar Nurpulaev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lott darts in and clinches Nurpulaev up against the cage.

Lott has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Nurpulaev uses from the top position.

Lott has his foot on Nurpulaev's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nurpulaev works his way back into a safe position though.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Nurpulaev fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lott, pushing him back against the cage.

Nurpulaev tries to stand but Lott is controlling from the bottom.
Lott is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Nurpulaev can do to turn this around?

Nurpulaev winds up and cracks Lott with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Nurpulaev is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Lott reverses the position - he's now on top in Nurpulaev's guard.

Nurpulaev stays in close to Lott's body and controls the position.
Lott is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Lott closes the distance and pushes Nurpulaev back into the cage.

Nurpulaev postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Nurpulaev is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Lott isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Nurpulaev stacks Lott on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Nurpulaev!

Nurpulaev is looking to take a break and control but Lott is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Nurpulaev is nestled in close to Lott, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Nurpulaev wants to take a breather but Lott is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Nurpulaev shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lott sprawls well. Lott wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Nurpulaev gets slowly back to his feet.
Nurpulaev tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lott swivels and escapes.
It looked like Lott was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Nurpulaev tries to keep at a distance but Lott has taken the fight into the clinch.

Lott escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That kick from Lott tenderised Nurpulaev's leg. Nurpulaev is trying to keep his angry face on.
Nurpulaev misses with a left hand

and Lott holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Lott jumps guard and drags Nurpulaev to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Lott throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Nurpulaev escapes and throws Lott's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Lott takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Lott tries to buck Nurpulaev off but Nurpulaev is having none of it.

Lott is trying to control Nurpulaev's posture but Nurpulaev avoids it.

Nurpulaev swings around for an armbar but Lott sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Nurpulaev's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Carlo Lott showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Lott has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
