Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Otocanin Zmija (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paulo Lazaro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paulo Lazaro will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Otocanin Zmija!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paulo Lazaro!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lazaro looks to land a left hand but Zmija moved out of range nicely.
Zmija tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lazaro was well out of range. Poor timing from Zmija.
A telegraphed right hand from Zmija misses the target.
Lazaro looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Zmija will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Lazaro darts in and clinches Zmija up against the cage.
Zmija misses with a short punch on the inside.
Lazaro lands with a left to the head.
Zmija tries to circle away but Lazaro has him pinned against the cage.
We've been hearing reports that Zmija has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Zmija's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Zmija throws a poor cross that misses
and Lazaro counters with a nice uppercut.
Lazaro throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Zmija is looking for a counter combo.
Lazaro's coach down at *Shrug* was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Lazaro's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lazaro moves out of range as Zmija strikes.
Zmija rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lazaro moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Lazaro dodges the punch combination from Zmija.
Zmija scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

and Lazaro counters with a straight right hand.
Lazaro keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Lazaro moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Zmija tries to move into range but Lazaro moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Zmija throws a lazy uppercut
and Lazaro counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Otocanin Zmija seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zmija misses with a few strikes there.
Zmija throws an overhand right that lands on Lazaro's shoulder, as Lazaro tries to avoid the shot.
Lazaro throws out a counter right but Zmija avoids it with no problem.
Zmija throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Zmija drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Zmija misses with a double jab
and Lazaro counters with a stiff right hand.
Zmija is breathing heavily.
Lazaro misses with a low kick.
Zmija steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lazaro.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lazaro uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Zmija throws a right and a left that Lazaro avoids nicely.
No joy there for Zmija, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Lazaro changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Lazaro lands a big uppercut and Zmija crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Zmija looks OK. Lazaro waves Zmija back to his feet!

Zmija is rocked!

It looks like Otocanin Zmija has been cut.
Zmija circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Lazaro. Zmija falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Lazaro!

After the fight, Paulo Lazaro was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
