The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Silva changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Flander has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
De Silva tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Flander was well out of range. Poor timing from De Silva.
Flander is clearly trying to counter these attacks from De Silva with a body shot.
Flander shoots for a takedown but De Silva saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

De Silva connects with a good right hand that stumbles Flander. Flander circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Flander takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Flander swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
De Silva lands with a straight right. Flander didn't see that one coming.

It looks like Farmhouse Flander has been cut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Flander scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
De Silva comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
The fighters circling - Flander throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
De Silva catches Flander with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Flander needs to keep his hands up - De Silva had a free shot at his head there.
De Silva just misses with a punch to the body.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

De Silva tries to move into range but Flander moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

De Silva slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Flander takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Flander takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Flander takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Flander is rocked!
De Silva connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Flander is still on wobbly legs! Can De Silva finish him?
Flander gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! De Silva gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

After the fight, Junior De Silva was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
