PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Greg Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johansen Sputenbergen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sputenbergen has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sputenbergen misses with a head kick.
Sputenbergen looks gassed!
Sputenbergen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Smith fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sputenbergen sprawls well initially but Smith persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Smith has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Smith is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Sputenbergen is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Sputenbergen flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Smith anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Sputenbergen and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Smith slips an arm under Sputenbergen chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Smith has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Smith is squeezing on Sputenbergen like an anaconda would it's prey. Sputenbergen fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
