Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Agustin Carlson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arthur Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arthur Shaw will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Agustin Carlson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Arthur Shaw!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shaw gets a takedown into half guard.
Shaw is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Carlson reverses the position - he's now on top in Shaw's guard.

Shaw has his foot on Carlson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Carlson works his way back into a safe position though.
Carlson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Shaw scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Carlson gets caught flat footed, as Shaw shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Carlson wants to get back to his feet but Shaw passes into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shaw is keen to just control but Carlson is a slippery customer.
Shaw seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Shaw manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Carlson on his heels. He'll look to pass Carlson's guard now, I'm sure.

Shaw is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Carlson asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Carlson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Carlson is trying to control. Shaw wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Carlson wants to stand up but Shaw has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Shaw is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Carlson stands up out of the half guard.
Arthur Shaw seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Carlson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Shaw is aware though and is defending well.

Shaw decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Carlson, up you get!

Shaw is persistently looking for the submission but Carlson is defending it well.
Carlson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Shaw thows a strike but Carlson uses the opportunity to reverse the position! Great move by Carlson as he ends up in Shaw 's guard!

Shaw shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Carlson napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Shaw is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Shaw swings around for an armbar but Carlson sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Shaw's guard.

Carlson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Carlson shoots in looking for a takedown but Shaw manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Carlson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Shaw fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Carlson sprawls well initially but Shaw persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Shaw is trying to control. Carlson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Shaw throws a wild left hand from mount and Carlson manages to wriggle his way back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shaw is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Shaw throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Shaw stands up from half guard.
Shaw throws a series of punches but Carlson avoids them all with ease.
The crowd cheers as Shaw lands an impressive looking overhand right. Carlson doesn't seem phased though.

Carlson tries to sprawl but Shaw drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Carlson makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Shaw has taken the fight to the clinch.

Shaw pulls Carlson into guard.

Carlson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Shaw tries to land a leg kick but Carlson saw it coming and moves away.
Shaw is breathing heavily.
Shaw lands with an uppercut that bounces Carlson off the cage and back into range.

Carlson gets a double leg takedown into Shaw's guard.

Shaw is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Carlson presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Shaw has had enough of the clinch but Carlson keeps him there for the moment.
Shaw's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Carlson tries to pull guard but Shaw won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Arthur Shaw showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Shaw accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Shaw thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Shaw decides to stand up.

Carlson pushes Shaw off but Shaw dives into side control.
An elbow from Shaw crashes against the mat.
Shaw tries to score with some ground and pound. Carlson controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Arthur Shaw comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Shaw has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
