And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miguel throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Monroe was covering up waiting for the punch and Miguel finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Miguel trying to control the position from guard on top but Monroe is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Monroe pulls Miguel in close to prevent any damage.
Miguel wants to pass the guard but Monroe is keeping the position.
Monroe avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Miguel stands and throws Monroe's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Monroe really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Miguel is trying to get an arm triangle but Monroe is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Miguel is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Monroe knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Monroe is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Monroe knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Miguel on the ground.
Monroe can't do much from the bottom here.
Miguel moves into full mount!
Miguel trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Monroe tries to lock up and control but Miguel gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Miguel misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Monroe is trying to escape the mount.
Miguel lands a nice shot to the head.
Monroe holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Miguel tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Miguel avoids the attempt from Monroe to control.

Miguel is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Monroe has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Oh Monroe is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
A big strike lands for Miguel! That's really hurt Monroe and he's turned his back - Miguel keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Miguel jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
